He was employed for more than 15 years at Baldwin Supply Co. An avid Green Bay Packer fan, he still enjoyed helping with Baldwin's pre-game Viking cookouts. He spent many years coaching kids' hockey teams. A lifelong outdoorsman, he also loved gardening and weekends at the lake.
He was a 1961 graduate of Superior Central High School. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, and a past president of the Billings Park Civic Assn in Superior.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louise and John "Jack"; a sister, Jean Efaw; and a brother, John "Jack".
Surviving are four sisters, Patricia Rep, Superior, Julienna (Fred) Grimsrud, Phoenix, AZ, Mary Daphne (Merrill) Busch, Minneapolis, and Donna (Chuck) Erickson, Minneapolis; Thomas R Meteraud, Charleston, SC; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and numerous friends, including his many friends among co-workers and customers of Baldwin Supply Co.
