JOHN MOOBERRY KILLED IN AUTO ACCIDENT SOUTH OF ROSEVILLE

John G. Mooberry, 65, of Charles City was killed at apporximately 10:30 p.m Wednesday evening, December 4, when the car he was driving struck a bridge two miles south of Roseville.
Authorities investigating the mishap said Mooberry, who was alone, apparently had gone to sleep at the wheel. Mooberry who was headed north on the highway, traveled 200 feet on the left shoulder, struck the bridge, made a complete roll over and landed on its wheels in a ditch 330 feet from the point of impact. He was reportedly returning home fom Greene when the accident happened.
He was born on June 23, 1891, near Morton, Illinois, the son of Lewis and Louise Voight Mooberry and was married to Hetta Marvel on February 24, 1916, at Marble Rock.
He operated the Mooberry Cabins in South Grand Avenue in Charles City for the past 11 years after retiring fom farming northeast of Greene.
Survivors include his wife, one son, Clinton of near Floyd, two daughters, Mrs. William (Marjorie) DeBuhr of Rockford and Mrs. Garfield ( Wilma) Gohr of Charles City, 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services were held on Saturday afternoon at 2:00 at the Hauser Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Heath, pastor of the Methodist Church, officiating. Burial was held in Sunnyside Memory Gardens.
