Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Richmond, MN for Norbert "Norb" Rothstein, age 64, who died accidentally on Tuesday. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
Relatives and friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday (TODAY) and from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning at the Wenner Funeral Home in Richmond. Parish prayers will be at 4:00 p.m. and the Richmond American Legion, Knights of Columbus and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeire #622 of St. Cloud will pray at 8:00 p.m. Friday evening.
Norb was born in Richmond, MN to Leo and Florence (Rausch) Rothstein. He served with the United States Army National Guard for 6 years. Norb married Dolores Machtmes and they farmed south of Richmond for 20 years and later divorced. Norb eventually moved to Park Rapids and enjoyed the "up-north" lifestyle and retired from Central Specialties of Alexandria after 10 years of employment. Norb enjoyed life outdoors; hunting, fishing, snowmobiling, gardening, working with his sawmill and wood projects. What he looked forward to most was spending time with his grandchildren and socializing with family and friends. He was a member of Sts. Peter & Paul Parish, Knights of Columbus, Richmond American Legion and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aeire #622 of St. Cloud.
Survivors include his partner, Marlene Yager and her children; his children, Rick, Darin "Lewis", Lori Edlund, Lisa (Paul) Sand, LeAnn and Amy; 5 grandchildren; brother, Jerome (Cindy) Rothstein and sister, Rita Stommes.
He was preceded in death by his son, Rodney; parents; sisters, Angela and Bernice
