William served in the U.S. Navy, as a fireman during World War II.

He married Mildred Faye Davidson, Aug. 1, 1938 in Pittsburg, Kansas.

He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and a Fourth Degree Member and a past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus. He also was a member of the Benjamin Fuller American Legion Post No. 64 of Pittsburg, the hourly coordinator of the Adoration Chapel for Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and the Baker Grange.

Survivors include his wife; sons William & Michael; sister Theresa Blanken; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
