He was the husband of Cassy (Walters) Cohoon of Monument Beach.
Born in Salem, Rick was the son of the late Richard Joseph "Dick" Cohoon and the late Muriel Frances (Spates) Cohoon, both of Monument Beach.
As the son of a serviceman, Rick spent his childhood living between Cape Cod, New Hampshire and the Philippines.
After graduating from Bourne High School, Rick joined the Air Force and retired in 1994. He is a veteran of Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
Rick was happy to come home to Cape Cod after traveling the world.
Rick was an avid fisherman and Patriots fan. He enjoyed scuba diving, model trains and quiet time. Collecting and fixing antique clocks also required Rick's around-the-clock attention. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and reading a good book.
A loving father and devoted husband, Rick is survived by his wife, daughters Samantha, Ashley and Meaghan, and his son, Richard J. "Joey" Cohoon III. He is also survived by his siblings, Patti-Ann Tanis of Fort Walton Beach Florida and her son Jon-Patrick Tanis; Kathleen Carr of East Falmouth and her children Ashley Frances Cohoon Carr, Ryan Paul McLaughlin Cohoon Carr and Sean William Cohoon Carr; John "Jack" Cohoon and his Wife Michele of Bistrol, Rhode Island and Mary Beth Cohoon of Northampton and her daughters Emma Jane Cohoon Seymour and Jenna Lyn Cohoon Seymour.
