Dorothy was born on June 7, 1928 to James and Gertha Ashmore Shinn in Lubbock County. She graduated from New Deal High School. She retired following 44 years of service with Southwestern Bell as an office administrator. On January 31, 1948, she married Thomas Hudson in Lubbock, Texas at Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Dorothy and Tom enjoyed traveling throughout the world and experienced life to the fullest.
She is survived by her loving spouse of 62 years, Thomas; sisters, Patricia Roberts and husband Leon of Slaton, and Loretta Maughan of New Deal; sister-in-law, Coleen Shinn of Lubbock; her baby, a miniature Doberman pinscher, Libby; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Troy and Don Shinn.
