Youth Dies In Gun Mishap
Target Range Tragedy
Gerald Hugh McClure, 20, of 126 Burke, was accidentally shot to death Saturday afternoon while target practicing at Canyon Lake Shores with his brother and a companion, according to Comal County Deputy Sheriff R. W. Kneupper.
Kneupper said McClure was seated, but rose into the line of fire as John Wesley Remke, 21, also of San Antonio, pulled the trigger of a 22-caliber rifle.
McClure was hit in the back of the head and was dead on arrival at a New Braunfels hospital, Kneupper said.
McClure was a junior at the University of Texas.
