Wife of Joseph Lewis Bennett married 30 March 1899; daughter of William Beverly Hargraves and 2nd wife Appie Spivey. Mother of known children - Troy C., William "Billy", Horace, Earlish, Nettie (Danforth), Randall Hopewell, Lewis, L. Elmer, Simon W., Appie Pauline (Sapp), and Barbara Irene (Long).

Final rites for Mrs. Lewis Bennett who died Thursday at her home here were held Friday at Hargreaves Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Joe Crews, with burial in the adjoining cemetery.

She is survived by her husband; five sons, T. C. Bennett, Horace Bennett, Elmer Bennett, and Simon Bennett of Waycross, and R. H. Bennett of New York; three daughters, Mrs. Nettie Danforth of Racepond, Miss Pauline Bennett of Waycross, and Miss Barbara Bennett of Waycross; also four sisters and two brothers.

She was a resident of 1102 Washington Avenue.

The Ulmer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
