Daisy M. Anderson, 84, of Metropolis passed away Monday, January 11, 2010, at 8:12 p.m. at Southgate Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Metropolis. She was a longtime resident of Elgin, Ill., returning to Metropolis after her retirement. She was a hard worker and loving mother and was always there for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be Friday, January 15, 2010, at 2 p.m. at Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home with the Rev. David Keyes officiating. Burial will follow at Hillerman Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by one son, Roger Anderson and wife LaVira of Paducah, Ky.; one stepson, Charles Anderson and wife Wilma of Metropolis; two daughters, Sandy Adkinson of Paducah, and Peggy Hansen and husband Kurt of Hilton Head Island, N.C.; two sisters, Lowanda Miller of Paducah and Edith Stevens of Metropolis; one brother, Edward Myers and wife Vira of Joppa, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Katie (Kitchen) Myers, and one son, Carl D. Anderson.
She was a member of Hillerman Baptist Church.
