Mrs. C. E. Johnson Succumbs After Brief Illness

Mrs. Clara E. Johnson, relict of the late Peter J. Johnson, died at her home on East Second avenue yesterday morning at 8:15 o'clock, following a brief illness, due to a paralytic stroke, which she suffered on Monday, while attending to her household duties. A physician was summoned but despite every effort made, she failed to rally and died at the time stated.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Sweden in the year 1881 and came to America, when a young girl. For the past several years, she has lived in this city and has many friends who will learn of her death with deep regret. She is survived by the following sisters and brothers: Mrs. Jennie Strum, Rochester, N. Y., Mrs. Fred DePerro and Mrs. Emma Nelson, DuBois; Ernest, of Cleveland, Ohio; Albert and Victor Lofgren, at home.

Funeral services over the remains of the late Mrs. Clara E. Johnson, who died at her home on East Second avenue early Tuesday morning, following a brief illness will be held from the family home this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock with Mr. Ernest Cahlman in charge of the services. Interment will be made in the Rumbarger cemetery.
