Ricky Lee Ballew, 53, husband of Gail Woods Ballew, of 1353 Georgia Road, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at his home.

Mr. Ballew was born December 15, 1952 in Simpsonville to the late Robert Lee Ballew and Edna Virginia Ross Ballew. He worked at J.P. Stevens plant in Laurens for 32 years, and later retired from Teknor-Apex Company.

Surviving, in addition to his wife of the home, are a son, Shannon Ballew and his wife, Cori of Gray Court; a daughter, Angela Staton and her husband, David of Gray Court; a sister, Kathy Harmon and her husband, Rick of Simpsonville; four grandsons, Justin Ballew, Taylor Staton, Dalton Ballew and Devon Staton; and three granddaughters, Kellie Moore, Andrea Moore and Miranda Ballew. He was predeceased by a great-grandson, Breyden O'Neal Stephens.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Fletcher Funeral Service in Fountain Inn.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hillside Baptist Church, officiated by Rev. Eddie Howard. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

The family is at the home.
