John Ambroz Dies From Heart Attack
John Ambroz of Tecumseh was taken to the Pawnee City hospital last Thursday, May 6, 1954 and died that evening from a heart attack, His age was 59 years and 1 day.
John William Ambroz, son of Joseph Ambroz and his wife Ann nee Zettek, was born May 5, 1895 at Madison, Nebr. The early years of his life were spent at Geddes, South Dakota, where he attended country school.
He was confirmed at Geddes by Father Burke and was a life long member of the Catholic church.
On May 7, 1917 he married Elsie Theis at Tecumseh, Nebr., the ceremony being performed by Father Barden. Two sons and two daughters were born to them and all survive their father. They are: Evelyn (Mrs. Eldon McCoy) and Marie (Mrs. Keith Wagner) of Tecumseh; William of Cook and Robert in Korea.
Mr. Ambroz was engaged in trucking; had a wide acquaintance and many friends in this section.
Besides his wife and children Mr. Ambroz is survived by two brothers and two sisters: Ed Ambroz, Lebanon, Ore.; Mrs. Henry Thies, Ethan, So. Dak.; William Ambroz, Coleridge; Mrs. Leo McAuliffe, St. Mary; also one step-sister, Mrs. Frank Mauser, Madison, Nebr.
Funeral services were held Monday morning in St. Andrews church, Tecumseh, with Father Francis Murphy in charge. Pallbearers were Cecil Davison, Fred Leuenberger, Julius Pfister, Fred Baum, Frank Pella and Fred Lintz. Burial was in St. Andrews cemetery.
To the bereaved family goes the sympathy of many friends.
