GARRISON - Gene E. Anderson, age 68, of Garrison, Minn., formerly of Minneapolis, left us to "scout it out" on March 21, 2007.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Elroy (Al) and Marion Anderson; two beloved children, Gene Allen and Debbie; father-in-law, Alvin Scofield; sister-in-law, Doreen Anderson; two brothers-in-law, Gary Olson and Terry Stenson.
Gene is survived by wife, Alvina; his children, Lori Anderson (Dirk), Toni Anderson Rud (Randy), Robyn Spiczka (Scott); brothers, Gary Anderson and Gale (Nancy) Anderson; seven wonderful grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law; many nieces and nephews; and so very many friends which he considered his extended family; and Sven, his dog and constant companion.
Gene loved life and the out of doors and every day was a new opportunity. He exhibited his fantastic sense of humor throughout his life and during his battle with cancer. His passing will be an adventure in faith for those who loved him so very much.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007, at Light of the Cross Lutheran Church in Garrison with Pastor Chris Hill officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Brainerd.
Thank you to the special caregivers at MLHC Long Term Care, who became his new friends.
