Blevins, David Joshua "Josh" -24, of Bristol, Va., died Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2005, at Duke University Medical Center, the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was born in Pikeville, a son of James H. Blevins of Robinson Creek and Cathy Smith Melton of Mebane, N.C. He was a member of Virgie Baptist Church. Besides his mother, he is survived by his stepmother, Angie Blevins; his stepfather, Belvin Joe Melton; one brother, Adam Blevins of Mebane; one sister, Laura Blevins of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and his grandparents, Don and Janice Norman of Bristol, Marie Melton of Mebane, Virginia Blevins of Robinson Creek, and Robert and Brenda Jacobs of Pippa Passes. Funeral services will be held at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16, in the Akard Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Mike McCloud officiating. Burial will be in the Glenwood Cemetery, at 11 a.m. Saturday, with the Rev. Bill Blackburn officiating. Arrangements are under direction of Akard Funeral Home of Bristol. Memorials may be made to Cathy Melton, c/o Akard Funeral Home, 1912 W. State St., Bristol, TN..
