The daughter of Sarah Ann Hartley and George Foster.

George William Foster was her brother.
Eliza Caroline Foster Reeves was her sister.

She had two half siblings, children of Sarah Ann Hartley and her first husband, Ebenezer Opham Denyer:

Mrs. Sarah McCarty

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Ann McCarty, 2512 Sweeney Lane, were held at the Wilke-Clay Funeral Home Wednesday afternoon.

The Rev. Leslie Bruton, pastor of the Fellowship Baptist Church , officiated, assisted by the Rev. Jim Jackson, pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church. Burial was in the Blaylock Cemetery at Lytton Springs.

She died in a local hospital Monday.

She had been an Austin resident the past 30 years and was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church.

She is survived by seven daughters, Mrs. Lillie Martin, Mrs. Laura Ethridge, Mrs. Dora Parker and Mrs. Ethel Patterson, all of Austin, Mrs. Nora Bell Reeves of Niederwall, Mrs. Dorothy Shively of Gondola, La., and Mrs. Lizzie McWhorter of Lubbock; four sons, George McCarty and Bill McCarty, both of Austin, Frank McCarty of Lytton Springs and Ollie McCarty of Luling; 51 grandchildren and 68 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Ervin McWhorter, Edward Martin, Vernon Martin, Douglas McCarty, Wesley Seale and Jimmie McCarty.
