Julia married Jacob Auer on 10 Sep 1858** in Calhoun County. They were the parents of 9 children, but several died in infancy or early childhood.
In her later years, Julia lived with the family of a grandson, "Vern" Osborne.
At the time of her death, Julia was 84 years, 9 months and 9 days old. She was buried on 30 Aug 1925. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob, who passed away in 1894.

DEATH OF MRS. JULIA AUER
Mrs. D. E. Osborn was called to Deer Plain by the illness and death of her mother, Mrs. Julia Auer. Mrs. Auer was quite well known in Grafton having spent the greater part of her time at the Osborn [sic] home in Grafton.
Mrs. Julia Auer, daughter of Batiste and Christine Marshall was born Nov. 19, 1840 and departed this life August 28, 1925, aged 84 years, 9 months and 9 days. She was married to Jacob Auer Sept. 9, 1858, to this union were born nine children, four of whom survive, they are: Mrs. L. Dixon, Mrs. D. E. Osborn, Mrs. Geo. R. Elder and Dr. N. G. Auer [sic], beside these there are thirteen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. During the whole life up to two and one-half years ago she enjoyed good health throughout most of her last illness she was confined to her bed and while she suffered at times excruciating pain she was ever a patient sufferer. She was a devoted wife an indulgent mother and a considerate neighbor. Her friends were legion. Thirty-three years ago she united with the Methodist church and while she was not permitted to participate in its fellowship, she continued to be a steadfast communicant and a loyal believer in her church. In her death the community lost a staunch friend, a noble person and a sympathetic and forgiving friend. She was laid to rest in the Deer Plain cemetery on Sunday afternoon, August 30. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Bryant of the M. E. church.
