OBITUARY Iron River Reporter Nov 17 1936 “Iron River Resident Buried This Morning”
Funeral services were held at 9 a.m. this morning in St. Mary’s church for Mrs. Elsie Goretski, 53, who died Saturday afternoon at her home at 31 Boyington street. The Rev. Fr. Casimir Adasiewicz officiated, and burial was in Resthaven cemetery.
Mrs. Goretski, who was born in Poland on June 15, 1883, has been an Iron River resident for the past 24 years. A few months ago she received treatment at the University hospital at Ann Arbor but returned here. Her husband died in 1929.
Surviving are three sons, John, Joseph and William, and a daughter Mrs. Charles Olan, all of Iron River. Three stepchildren, Ben Goretski and Mrs. Sokolowski, all of Chicago, and Mrs. Van Sickle of Detroit, also survive. She has a brother and a sister in Chicago as well.

INFORMATION FROM RELATIVE granddaughter Monica Fiorazo (no email address) says her grandmother's maiden name is not known. She lived in Chicago and was courted by John Goretski from Iron River, who had a farm. They married and she came to Iron River, where not only was there no farm, but he also had 4 children!
