BRUCE EDWARD THOMPSON
VALPARAISO, IN -- Bruce Edward Thompson, age 53, of Valparaiso, IN, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2008 at the VNA Hospice Center. He was born January 22, 1955 in Valparaiso, the son of William and Genevieve (Clouse) Thompson.
Bruce was an operator for the City of Valparaiso Sewer Department and a member of the U.S. Army. He was a former officer of the Eagles #2517, a 30 year softball player and loved the Mets and Dolphins, and his Jack Daniels.
On November 15, 1985, Bruce married Pam Foyer who survives of Valparaiso. Also surviving are three sons: Justin (Crystal) Thompson of Wanatah, IN, Travis Thompson of Valparaiso, IN and Robert (Michelle) Thompson of North Vernon, IN; one daughter, Angela Sullivan of Lake Station, IN; seven grandchildren; five brothers: Charles of Wanatah, IN, Tom (Marcella) of Valparaiso, IN, Rocky (MaryEllen) of Knox, IN, Danny (Melissa) and Allen (Marie) both of Valparaiso, IN; one sister, JoAnne (Richard) Barker of FL.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jenny; his father, William; sister, Mary; son, Clayton; and daughter, Jennie.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 14, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe Street, Valparaiso, IN with Rev. Brenda Ludwig officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday from 12:00-3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the funeral service at the Valparaiso Eagles #2517. www.bartholomewnewhard.com.
