Rose was born June 13, 1931, in Livingston to Mildred Margret Smelcer and Anton Schnablegger and was the oldest of six children. She attended school in Winston and graduated from Townsend High School.
In 1954 Rose met and married "the love of her life," Robert Cobert. They had two children together, Daniel and April. Robert preceded her in death.
Rose was wed to Raymond Knapp in 1961. Together they had two children, Sharon and James. Raymond preceded her in death.
In 1970, Rose moved to Superior where she was a loved member of the community up to the time of her death.
Rose was preceded in death by her sister, Laura Pruitt; brother Tony Schnablegger; daughter Marsha Tuttle and grandson Michael Notti.
Survivors include brother Joe Schnablegger of Cameno Island, Wash.; Jeannette Schrock of West Virginia, and Walter Schrock of Superior; children Daniel (Mary) Cobert of Missoula, April (Wells) Worley of Superior, Sharon (Doug) Gull of Superior and James Knapp of McMinnville, Ore.; grandchildren Dustin, Allen, Derek, Dylan, Daniel Robert and Kenneth; great-grandson, Trent Wesley; and special niece, Suzanne Chilcote of Missoula.
A celebration of Rose's life will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 22, at the Superior Community Church in Superior with Pastor Gray Repke officiating. Her ashes will be scattered in a private location at a later date.
