Dorothy T. "Dee" Powell, 86, Columbus

Dorothy T. "Dee" Powell, 86, of Central Avenue, Columbus, Ind., died at 4:10 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2009, at Willow Crossing Heath & Rehabilitation Center.

Dee was a resident of Pennsylvania for 71 years and had resided in Columbus for the past 15 years. She especially enjoyed people and attending meetings at the Kingdom Hall. Dee loved spending time with her family and friends and one of the things that was most important to her was playing cards with her grandchildren. She was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness for the last 30 years.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 25, 2009, at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, 545 N. National Road, Columbus, Ind., with Robert Young officiating.

Arrangements were made by Jewell-Rittman Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Powell was born November 11, 1922 at Reading, Pa., the daughter of David and Anna Ranck.

Survivors include a daughter, Theresa (Larry) Newman of Columbus, Ind.; sons, Frank Stow Jr. of Pennsylvania and Michael (Judy) Stow of California; grandchildren, Larry Newman Jr., Rich Newman, Brad Newman and Ryan Newman, all of Columbus, Ind.; great-grandchildren, Jordan Newman Avery Newman and Samara Newman; and her dearest friends, Louise Cusack and Kathy Cox.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Robert Stow.
