BRAINTREE Catherine T. Kay (Houghton) McDonough, of Braintree formerly of Charlestown passed away at the age of 70, July 10, 2009, beloved wife of Patrick J. Pat McDonough. Daughter of the late William and Rose (Canny) Houghton. Devoted sister of Rosemary Houghton of Somerville. Dear cousin of Fr. John Donaghey S.V.D., of Techny, IL, and the late Fr. Bernard Donaghey S.V.D. Also survived by her uncle Bernard Doherty and his wife Mary of Co. Donegal, Ireland. Mrs. McDonough was born in and grew up in Charlestown. She has lived in Braintree for over 40 years. She worked in the banking industry for several of the area banks or companies that provided services to banks. She started out as encoder and worked her way up. Kay enjoyed Friday night Bingo with her friends. Reposing at the Cartwright-Venuti Funeral Home, 845 Washington St., Braintree until 8:15 a.m. Wednesday followed by a Funeral Mass at 9:00 a.m. in St. Francis of Assisi Church, So. Braintree Sq. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home. Burial in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
