He was a 1975 graduate of Fenton High School and had resided in Fenton his entire life. He owned and operated James Heft Plumbing and Heating. James also was a member of Michigan Cruiser Car Club.
James Thomas Heft, age 53, of Fenton, Michigan, died February 13, 2009 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.
Surviving were: son, Chad James Heft; mother, Marie Heft of Fenton; brother, Greg and wife Judy Heft of Fenton; 2 sisters, Suzanne and husband Bob Prophet of Fenton and Carol and husband Burt Summers of Durand; mother of his son, Shana Heft of Fenton; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Aloma and Gerald Joslin of Harrison; brother-in-law, Chris Joslin of Fenton; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Heft.
