Timothy's birth year could also be 1743. On FamilySearch, the source CT. Births and Christenings 1649-1906 states he was born in 1743, but does not show the actual image. On Ancestry, the source CT. Town Birth Records (Barbour Collection) shows Timothy's birth year as 1743/1744 with an image of the index page. The latter is posted to his memorial. In addition, his gravestone states he died in the 74 Year of his age.

He married Anna Dudley on 25 November 1767 in Guilford, Connecticut. He served in the Lexington, Massachusetts Alarm. He was part of the Connecticut Continental militia during the Revolutionary War. He was a private in Captain Andrew Ward's Company and later served as a lieutenant in the 7th Regiment under Colonel William Worthington. He was a lieutenant in Captain Peter Vail's Company of Connecticut Coast Guards, which protected Long Island Sound. He achieved the rank of Captain.
He was a farmer and held several local offices in Madison, Connecticut.
