Katherine E. McKeefe , 78, Main Street, a native of Montreal, Que., and a former librarian in Plattsburgh, died late Thursday morning in Canton-Potsdam Hospital, Potsdam. She was preparing to undergo eye surgery.

A prayer service will be at 3 p.m. Monday at the Fox Funeral Home, Lisbon, followed by a funeral Mass at 3:30 p.m. in St. Phillips and James Church, with Rev. John Yonkovig, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg.

Calling hours will be Sunday evening at the funeral home.

Surviving are a brother-in-law and several nieces.

A brother and a sister died previously.

Born in Montreal on Oct. 20, 1910, she moved to the Plattsburgh area at an early age.

Miss McKeefe was employed as a librarian in Plattsburgh, before coming to Lisbon in 1956 where she had made her home with Erwith and Rena Dezell.

She was a communicant of St. Phillips and James Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.
