Emil was the son of Joseph Ament and Margaret Johnson. He married Loretta McDonald on Sept 12 1961 in Cherokee.

The Cherokee Courier - Thursday, April 29th, 1965 - Emil Ament, 61, a resident of 203 South Ninth, died here Saturday morning following an illness of four days.

He was born in Missouri on July 15, 1903. He had lived most of his life in Cherokee County and resided in this city the past 30 years. His early life was spent on a farm west of Cherokee. Later he was employed with an implement firm and as a carpenter for many years.

He was married to Loretta McDonald on Sept 12 1961 in Cherokee. He served four years with the Seabees in World War II.

Survivors include the widow, Loretta; five brothers: Joe, Providence, R.I., Will, Marcus; A.L. Cherokee, Alfred, Cherokee; Ralph, Cherokee; two sisters: Mrs Emma Reinert, Cherokee; Sister Mary Geraldine, Omaha, Neb,

Funeral services were held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock in Immaculate Conception Church. Fr J G Skahill will be celebrant of the requiem high mass. Burial was in Mt Calvary Cemetery. Rosary was recited at 8 o'clock Sunday and Monday nights at Greenwood Funeral Home .
