Robert W. Buce, 82, former mayor of Winnfield, died in a Bastrop hospital, Jan. 1, 1956 after a long illness. Funeral services were conducted at the First Baptist Church, Winnfield, Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. with burial following in the Winnfield Cemetery under direction of Southern Funeral Home.

Acting as pallbearers were Eli Harrell, Leo Sowers, Harper Terrill, D. L. Hoffman, William Kirkpatrick, and S. G. Jackson.

Mr. Buce spent most of his lifetime in Winnfield where he was mayor for three terms. He was active in civic and church affairs and was a deacon in the First Baptist Church. For [?] years he was connected with a life insurance
company.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Sterling Holmes of Jackson, Miss., Mrs. J. D. [illegible] of Shreveport, and Mrs. Bowden Folse of Bastrop. He also leaves 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
