LISBON - Mary M. Altomare, 83, of Thomas Rd. passed away peacefully at 12:15pm, Wednesday, May 20, 2009 at her home following a recent illness.

Mrs. Altomare was born February 3, 1926 in Lisbon, the daughter of the late Harold and Christina (Chamberlain) Benner, and had lived her entire life in the Lisbon area.

She had worked as a teacher's aide for 23 years in the Lisbon David Anderson School district until her retirement.

Her husband, John Paul "Huck" Altomare, whom she married June 26, 1948, preceded her in death February 11, 2009.

Mrs. Altomare is survived and will be dearly remembered by her daughter, Linda (William) Farmer of Bolingbrook, Ill.; son, Alan Altomare of Newport News, Va.; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Mandy) Farmer of Virginia Beach, Va., Jason Farmer of Athens, Oh., Joseph, Briana, and Anthony Altomare, all of Newport News; great grandchildren, Kennedy, Katie, and Landon Farmer; and several nieces and nephews.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Harold Henry Benner, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00pm, Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at the Eells-Leggett-Stauffer Funeral Home with Rev. Joanne Dota officiating. Private burial will take place in the Lisbon Cemetery.

The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 120 West County Line Rd., Columbiana, Ohio 44408
