Lucille passed away Monday, May 4, 2009. She was born Sept. 20, 1923, in Tonkawah, Okla., to the late John and Florence (Goodel) Spencer.
She married Clyde K. Akers; he preceded her in death Jan. 9, 1998. She retired from the JC Penney Company after 45 years of service. She was a member of the WWII Glider Pilot's Association. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Glider Pilot's Museum in Lubbock.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Clyde K. Akers, Jr. and wife, Jean; grandchildren, Noel, Cameron, Kendra, Christian, Penney, Jeff, and Heather; great-grandchil-dren, Holly, Reath, Ashley, Katie, Andre, Zack, and Andrew; brother, Howard Spencer and wife, Coreen; and sister, Veva Smith and husband Bill.
