Mike A. Lang, 84, 311 W. 17th, a retired city fireman, died Thursday, July 29 at St. Anthony Hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1897 at Victoria, the son of Adam and Katherine Lang.

He married Emma Leikam Sept. 24, 1917 at Catherine. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, of the home; four sons, Mike Jr, Santa Barbara, Calif., Virgil, Kansas City, Alex and Eugene, both of Hays.; eights daughters, Mrs. Mary Jane Sowards, St. Louis, Erna Silkman, Goodland, Mrs. Edna Critchfield, Hill City, Mrs. Ida Groff, Phoenix, Ariz., Mrs. Melvine Thomas, Hobbs, N.M., Mrs. Emma Brungardt and Mrs. Irene Staab, both of Hays, and Patricia Raip, Salina; a sister, Christine Hogan, Hays; one brother, Victor Lang, Hays; one sister, Mrs. Anna Rupp, Hays; 33 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, burial was in the church cemetery.
