Mary died at age 48 years, widowed, at St. Luke's Hospital, New Bern, NC. Last residence, Ft. Barnwell, Craven Co., NC. (Death certificate lists age as 45 years and year of birth as 1882.)
The children were orphaned in 1925, Luby, Mary, Delaney & Charles were all in the Oxford Masonic Orphanage in Granville Co. NC from 1925 until each turned 18 – the youngest in 1936.
