US Congressman. After engaging in the feed and grain business, he was elected to the New Jersey State Assembly in 1884. He was elected as a Democrat to the House of Representatives and served two terms, from 1891 to 1895. After leaving Congress, he returned to his business pursuits in Paterson, New Jersey, where he died.
