FORT SCOTT -- Graveside services were Feb. 27 at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Scott for Zella Mae "Tillie" Allen, 97, formerly of Fort Scott. She died Feb. 25, 1999, at an Osage City nursing home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1901, at Alpine, Ark., the daughter of Judge William H. and Inez Elms Langston. She had lived in Burlington, Lyndon and Fort Scott before she moved to Osage City in 1989.
She married Kenneth M. Allen in 1929. He died in 1954. Survivors include a son, Kenneth L. Allen, Osage City; a brother, Maj. (retired) J.T. Langston, Norfolk, Va.; two granddaughters; three stepgrandchildren; four great-grandchildren; eight stepgreat- grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and three stepgreat-great- grandchildren.
