Sara Jane Reid Curtis, 81, of Charleroi, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at her daughter's home in Darlington, PA.
A daughter of the late James and Elsie Parrish Huzela Craig, she was born December 7, 1926 in Mather, PA. She enjoyed working with crafts and needlework in her spare time.
Sara is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Daniel Trettel, of Darlington, and Gale and Tim Jones, of Dale, Texas; two sons, Thomas Reid, of Santa Maria, Calif., and Vernon Reid, of Charleroi; six grandchildren, Melanie Kessler and husband Richard, Laurie Chudoba and husband Jeffrey, Daniel Trettel and wife Vanessa, Jodie Szallay, Austin Willingham, and Alyssa Reid; and six great-grandchildren, Riya Ann Chudoba, Emily Kessler, Brittany, Danielle, Dakota Trettel, and Ciera Marie Sherrill.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, Vernon Reid and James Curtis, Jr. Sara will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 in the Edward Melenyzer Funeral Homes, Inc, 825 Fallowfield Ave., Charleroi, where a funeral service will be conducted Thursday, July 24, at 11 a.m. with Stanley Belczyk of the Seventh Day Advent Church, Belle Vernon officiating.
Interment will be in Greene County Memorial Park, Waynesburg.
