He was a member of Co. C, 28th Battalion, Ga Siege Arty.
He was a member of the Shilo Baptist Church in Marion County, Ga, then joined the Brooksville Baptist Church February 27, 1909 by letter He first married a Miss Johnes of Marion County, Ga.December 27, 1866, four children by this union and a second wife who was Miss Salathia Smith who survive him. This info from the Brooksville Baptist Church minutes.

Miss Smith in all likely buried him at Brooksville, and after he died she left and was not buried by him. Now he is alone in Brooksville.

121248878 There is another military marker for this man at the number to my left. The mystery is where he is really buried. He married a second time, and likely the older one is not where he is laid to rest for eternity.
