James Vincent Gerszewski, Grand Forks, ND passed away Monday, April 30, 2007 in Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND
Jim was born November 12, 1935 in Ardoch, ND to Peter and Margaret Gerszewski. He was raised and educated in Ardoch Township. He worked on the family farm then joined the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean Conflict. After his service, He married Theresa Slominski on June 3, 1958 in St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw, ND. They made their home in Grand Forks where they raised their family and Jim worked for the city of Grand Forks for 46 years before his retirement.
Jim enjoyed fishing. He took pride in his yard and flowers, especially red geraniums. He loved his dog, Frito. He also enjoyed going for coffee with his friends and liked to work in his garage.
Jim is survived by his wife, Theresa; daughter, Deborah (Doug) Olson; son, Dean Gerszewski; grandchildren, Brandon Olson, Blake (Briana Schmaltz) Olson and Lindsey Gerszewski; brothers, Michael (Joyce) Gerszewski, Minto, ND, Thomas (Maureen) Gerszewski, Minto, ND; sister, Frances Jean (Daniel) Lizakowski, Andover, MN and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Margaret Gerszewski; sister, Donna Mozinski; nephews, Gregory and Gary and a niece, Jacqueline
