Lottie C. Beeson, daughter of Absolom and Marie O'Brien Pierce, was born March 7, 1887, at Ottawa, Illinois, and passed away July 14, 1970, at a Sioux City hospital. She was married Henry Beeson at Correctionville on December 13, 1904. They farmed in the Correctionville community until retiring to town in 1943. Mr. Beeson preceded her in death in 1959. Mrs. Beeson was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville. She is survived by four daughters: Mrs. Archie (Ella) Thompson and Mrs. Thomas (Lenora) Murphy, both of Sioux City; Mrs. Lowell (Mayme) Hobbs, Moville; and Mrs. Leroy (Opal) Bremer of Holstein; three sons, Lewis of Anaheim, California; Ray of Anthon and Harold of Correctionville; one brother, John Pierce of Sioux City; 25 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, five sisters, and one grandson, James. Funeral services were held July 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the Grace United Methodist Church in Correctionville. Rev. C.W. Kerns officiated. Interment was in the Correctionville Cemetery under direction of Wilson-Hull Service.
