Mrs. Dora Dishman Eggers, age 90, of 5693 Old US Highway 421, Zionville, died Monday morning, January 5, 2009, at Watauga Medical Center.

Mrs. Eggers is survived by two daughters, Betty Church and husband Dean of Boone, and Cathy Farmer and husband Sid of Zionville; two sons, R.D. Eggers and wife Betty of Zionville, and Steve Eggers of the home; two sisters, Helen Dotson of Boone, and Dare Brown of Zionville; four granddaughters, Mary Ann Miller of Sugar Grove, Margaret Eggers of Elizabethton, Tennessee, Myra Farmer Epley of Trade, Tennessee, and Debbie Dollar of Zionville; three grandsons, Spencer Eggers of Zionville, Jason Church of Boone, and David Eggers of Deep Gap; four great-granddaughters, Loren Ray of Deep Gap, Natalie Eggers and Maggie Miller of Sugar Grove, and Rebecca Eggers of Deep Gap, and five great-grandsons, Matthew Eggers of Deep Gap, Tucker Hale Church of Boone, and Quinton Church of Boone, Steven Miller of Sugar Grove, and Hank Howard of Elizabethton, Tennessee. She is also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a special caregiver; Chelsea Ashley of Zionville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rom Eggers; her father and mother, Spencer and Maggie Smitherman Dishman; two brothers, Glenn Dishman and Mack Dishman, and one sister, Georgie Lawrence.

Burial will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
