Betty Fowler weighed 2 lbs, 6 oz at birth, the smallest premature baby at that time to inhabit the Norton Hospital incubator room. Several articles appeared in the Louisville Courier-Journal detailing her progress, but eventually she succumbed to bronchiopneumonia and passed away.
