JACKIE LEE ADKINS, 66, of Harts, departed this life Wednesday, October 29, 2008, at Cabell Huntington Hospital at Huntington.

Born July 28, 1942, at Davin, he was a son of the late Okie and Della Belle Ferrell Adkins. Also preceding him in death were four sisters, Arnetta Lehman, Ruby Wolfe, Lula Belle Adkins and Terry Adkins.

Jackie was a retired timberman who enjoyed four wheeling and hunting.

Those left to cherish his memory include one sister, Kathy (Larry) Allen of Yawkey; three brothers, Robert R. (Joan) Adkins, Okie (June) Adkins Jr. and Jerry D. (Andalene) Adkins, all of Harts and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 1, at the Freeman Funeral Home at Chapmanville with Pastor Donnie Wells officiating. Burial will follow at the George Duty Cemetery at Broad Branch Road at Big Ugly.

Pallbearers will be Jason Farley, Eric Adkins, James Adkins, Scotty Ritchie, Mark Ritchie and David Adkins.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Freeman Funeral Home of Chapmanville is in charge of the arrangements.
