Dillard M. White, age 88, of Tuscumbia, Ala., died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008.

His family will receive friends from 10-11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 17, 2008, at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m., with Tom Wimberly officiating. Burial will be in Restview Cemetery in Loretto, Tenn.

Mr. White was a longtime resident of Colbert Heights (Tuscumbia). He was a veteran of World War II and was awarded a Purple Heart while serving in Europe during his 4 1/2-year tour in the U.S. Army. He retired from Reynolds Metals, where he had worked as a mechanic. He was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church in Littleville, Ala.

Pallbearers are Jerry Henson, Ronnie (Bill) Cantrell, Bob Brewer, Allen Hyde, Russell White, Kevin Brewer, Bobby Hyde, Justin White and Nick Cantrell. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Sherrill, Zack Henson and Eddie Hatton.

The family would like to express special thanks to all of those who were so kind during his last days.
