On April 27, 1992, "Baby Spring" was found dead in a Springfield dumpster. Police estimate that she was about 3 days old to a week, and had been suffocated. The case is still open.
Local citizens and business put together a funeral for the unknown baby complete with a beautiful small pink coffin, a pink dress, little shoes, a blanket and even a toy. There were dozens of flower arrangements donated as well and over fifty people attended her funeral.
