She was born May 13, 1925, in Leeds, Ala., the daughter of Fred. L. and Nora Murphy Busby. She was raised in Alabama and graduated from school there. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and caring for her family. She was a member of the Hardison Baptist Church in Byron, Ga. After moving to Madison in 1990, she became a member of Grace Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester E. Almaroad, whom she married July 24, 1944, and who died Jan. 3, 2004; her parents; one brother, Ed Busby; and four sisters, Glenda House, Mary Henderson, Lucy Carpenter and Gert Mullendore.
The funeral was at Grace Baptist Church, 920 Montclair, Madison. A service and burial was in Forestlawn Mausoleum, Anniston, Ala.
