Wilburna M. Giglio was born April 25, 1929, in Omaha, Neb., daughter of William and Floy Strunk Derenberger, she graduated in 1947 from Ogdensburg Free Academy.

She received a bachelor's degree in 1951 and a master's degree in 1952, both from Albany State Teachers College, and taught at Sherman until 1954.

She married Joseph Giglio on Aug. 18, 1956, at St. Mary's Cathedral. They lived in Syracuse from 1958 to 1960 and then in Colonie for two years before returning to the north country. They lived in

Mrs. Giglio taught Latin and Greek languages and was a cheerleading and Latin Club adviser at Ogdensburg Free Academy, retiring in 1991.

Massena until returning to Ogdensburg in 1971. Mr. Giglio died in 1995.

Mrs. Giglio enjoyed playing bridge, spending summers on the St. Lawrence River and following local and family athletes, Democratic functions and sporting events. She also enjoyed knitting and working crossword puzzles and was a volunteer in the library at St. Marguerite D'Youville Academy.
