Kelvin B Tibbetts, age 73 and of Panama City Florida, passed away 13 October 2008 at Bay Pines VA Hospital. Kelvin was born 6 January 1935 on the island of Cayman Brac. He moved with his family to Port Arthur Texas in November 1938. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1953 and Lamar University in 1957 with a BS in Mathematics. He served in the US Army from 1958 to 1961. He then worked in the aerospace industry for AVCO, TRW Systems and Boeing Company, where he wrote the performance specifications for the Saturn-Apollo Program which later took man to the moon. He went into business for himself in 1970 until his retirement in 1997.
He was preceded in death by his father Kelly Harvey Tibbetts and his brother Airley.
