Bobby Joe "B.J." Hargrove of Berryville, Ark., died Monday, Oct. 13, 2008, in Harrison, Ark. He was 83.

Mr. Hargrove was born Dec. 8, 1924, to Daniel and Ava (Gowen) Hargrove.

He was a World War II veteran of the Navy.

He was owner and operator of Daylight Donuts in Berryville. He attended the Assembly of God Church in Berryville. He was baptized Aug. 2, 1958.

He married Nelle Jane Ellison on Dec. 19, 1983. She survives, of the home.

Additional survivors include five daughters and their husbands, Sara Creswell of Owasso, Beverly and Bill Davis of Baxter Springs, Kan., Janice Jacob of Waggoner, Janie and John Edwards of Anderson and Victoria Baker of Kansas City, Mo.; one son, Jimmie Cox Jr. of Springfield, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Whitesell; his parents; three brothers, Don Hargrove, Ralph Hargrove and Ben Hargrove, and one granddaughter, Cindy Slagel.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Charles M. Nelson Memorial Chapel in Berryville. Pastor Keith Butler will officiate. Burial will be 3 p.m. in G.A.R. Cemetery in Miami.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
