Susan and James B. had no children.

MURDER AND SUICIDE JOE FOLEY MURDERS A WOMAN, ASSAULTS A YOUNG GIRL AND COMMITS SUICIDE.
A horrible crime was committed about 10 miles northeast of Liberty, last Sunday evening about five o'clock in which the wife of one of our most respectable farmers was murdered by a fiendish brute, who then attempted to ravish a 15 year old girl and blew out his own worthless brain, his suicide being the most commendable act of his entire life.
From information given us by Sheriff John King, it seems Foley had been to Missouri City on Sunday, where he filled up on Whiskey. Returning to the home of James Wilson, for whom he had been working about 4 o'clock, he asked Edith Wilson one of his victims, if he uncle was at home and, being answered in the negative left the premises, but returned in about half an hour and again asked for Mr. Wilson. Being told that he had not returned, Foley asked the child if there was a gun on the place. She told him there used to be and would ask her aunt. Both went to the house, the little girl urging her aunt not to let Foley have the gun, telling her he would kill them, as he had been drinking, but Mrs. Wilson gave him the gun, which he unbreached to see if it was loaded. Mrs. Wilson warned him be careful lest he hurt someone accidentally, when Foley raised the gun and fired one load into the woman's right breast, killing her almost instantly, the only words uttered by her after the shot was fired being, "Oh, Joe"
Joe Foley tried to rape the little girl, but failed. Seeing an opportunity to escape, she fell heard another shot, ran outside, where she met her uncle, Jim Wilson. Wilson rushed into the house and found Mrs. Wilson dead on the floor with a gaping wound in her breast. He was too late for vengeance, for there on the bed lay the infernal devil with the top of his head blown away and blood, bone, and brain spattered all over the walls.
Mrs. Wilson was about 44 years of age and a most estimable woman. She was the daughter of Wash Bradley.
The victim of Foley's attempt at rape is the daughter of the late Thomas M. Wilson and a niece of the dead woman's husband, who has been a father to her since the death of her own parent. Her father Thomas M. Wilson, Jr had committed suicide in early 1899 on the same farm where Susan Isabelle{Bradley} Wilson was killed. So Edith had two very traumatic experiences.
Foley's relatives refused to have anything to do with his body, it was buried in the potter's field.
