"Ann" Fry - 1937-2008

Amelia "ANN" Fry of Sherman, 71 year old retired registered nurse, passed away Tuesday evening, July 22, 2008 at the Homestead Nursing Home in Sherman, Texas.

Ann was born January 3, 1937 in Brasher Falls, New York, the daughter of Jacob Henry Ruff and Frances Daisy Hill Ruff.

She attended schools in New York.

She married Donald L. Fry in New York on October 6, 1956.

Ann earned her Associates' Degree in Nursing at Grayson County College and was employed as an RN for 20 years at Texoma Medical Center in Denison, Texas, retiring in 2005.

Ann's concern and caring for people was indicative of her devotion and dedication as a nurse. She also was a volunteer for "Reach For Recovery" for breast cancer survivors through the American Cancer Society, providing comfort, support, and hope to women who had been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Ann loved working in her home by remodeling and updating, which included painting, wall papering, and her various other projects. She was a member of the Harvest Time Assembly of God Church in Sherman, Tx.

Services will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, July 26, 2008 at the Harvest Time Assembly of God Church in Sherman, Tx.

Rev. Irby McKnight, former pastor of the church will officiate.

Ann will be laid to rest next to her husband in the Veterans section of West Hill Cemetery in Sherman, Tx.

Arrangement under the direction of Waldo Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends from 6-8pm Friday, July 25, at Waldo Funeral Home.
