Gary Lee Abbott, 72, passed away June 24, 2008 at the UVRMC of a short illness. He was born on August 6, 1935 in Portland, Oregon, the son of Clifton E. & Delsa Gloria Lutz Abbott.
He married Nedra Jean Hill on May 17, 1958 in the Los Angeles, California Temple. They resided in Olivehurst, California, King's River, Nevada and Lehi, Utah. They are the parents of two sons, Robert and Duane, one daughter, Marla.
He served in the Army for three years. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, he served in many capacities including Family History Research. He was employed as a teacher and security officer.
Gary is survived by his wife Nedra, sons, Robert L. Abbott and Duane L. Abbott, Lehi, daughter, Marla K. Peterson, Pleasant Grove, four grandchildren, Natalie (Jonathon) Ellis, Robert E. Abbott, Adam V. Peterson, Kristen Peterson, two great-grandchildren, Brianna Ellis and Jaxon R. Ellis, a sister, Janice Elaine (Doug) Phillips. and his brother Michael W. (Mary) Abbott. Preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 28, at the Lehi East Stake LDS Chapel, 900 N. 1200 E., Lehi, at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends may call Friday, June 27, at Wing Mortuary, 118 E.
