Darlene, daughter of Elbie Earl and Elizabeth Murphy Groves, married Albert Featherston September 1, 1946, in Dodge City, Kansas. They had four children: Anita, Roy, Randy, and Rita. Darlene was an accomplished vocalist, a business woman, and a life long member of the Church of Christ. Darlene donated her body to the University Medical Center, Lubbock, Texas, and her ashes were interred at Resthaven in Lubbock, May 6, 2006. There is a memorial bench in honor of Al and Darlene in the City of Lubbock Cemetery.
