Johnny Agee of the Left Hand Poor Valley Community, Pennington Gap, VA was born Thursday, April 7, 1932 in Jonesville, VA., He passed away Saturday, February 23, 2008, at St. Mary's North Hospital, Knoxville, Tennessee at the age of 75.

Johnny was a retired boat dock owner and operator of Cherokee Boat Dock in Mooresburg, TN. He was a resident of Knoxville, TN for about 26 years and recently moved back to Lee County, VA., Johnny proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the Coral Sea and Midway Aircraft Carrier during the Korean war. He was of the Baptist Belief. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, William Ross and Sylvia Turner Agee Sergent, his brother, Samuel David Sergent.

He is survived by his children, Judy Hubbard and husband Jimmy of Bean Station, TN., Jennifer Alsup and husband Larry of Pennington Gap, VA., William Phillip Agee of Pennington Gap, VA., John and Jodi Agee of Indianapolis, IN., Angela Cox and husband Hershell of Indianapolis, IN., Dale Jones and wife Tracey of Indianapolis, IN., (Dale was like a son). Grandchildren, Travis Agee and Derrick Hubbard both of Bean Station, TN., Amanda Agee Webb and Anthony Alsup both of Pennington Gap, VA., Patty Pennington of Pennington Gap, VA., William Phillip Agee, II. of Indianapolis, IN., Ashley Agee of Pennington Gap, VA., John Ross Agee, Jr. and Alisha Agee of Indianapolis, IN., Amber Cox and Christopher Cox of Indianapolis, IN. Kayla Hatley of Pennington Gap, VA., great grandchildren, Dakota and Austin Webb of Indianapolis, IN., Brooklyn Alsup of Pennington Gap, VA., Shay Smith of Pennington Gap, VA., Jeremy Pennington of Pennington Gap, VA., Jordon and Emily Agee of Bean Station, TN., brother, Benny Sergent and wife Nacy of Jonesville, VA., sister, Sylvia Jane Sergent of Knoxville, TN., ex-wife and friend, Geneva Jones of Pennington Gap, VA. Funeral Service will be conducted at 8:00 PM Tuesday February 26, 2008 in the Province Funeral Home Sanctuary in Pennington. with Rev. Paul Davis, Jr. officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until the time of service at 8:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.

Graveside service will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 27, 2008 in the Cecil Fry Cemetery in Pennington. Military Rites will be conducted by the Charles Dewitt Byrd V.F.W. Post #3382 of Kingsport, TN. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:30 AM to go to the cemetery. Sons, Grandsons and Sons in Law will serve as pallbearers.
